Fighters of Daugavpils Grappling Team participated in the 2nd open Brazilian ju-jitsu Championship of Latvia

On March 29 fighters of Daugavpils Grappling Team participated in the 2nd open Brazilian ju-jitsu Championship of Latvia.

Competitions in which the Latvian and Lithuanian athletes took part, took place in the No-Gi format (without kimono) in three groups – men without greppling experience (about a year of occupations), men with grappling experience, juniors of 95-99 year of birth. According to rules of competitions, in the main time the victory was awarded to that athlete who will achieve delivery of the rival by painful or suffocating reception.
In spite of the fact that rules provided exclusively man's structure competing, among men there were also two girls one of which there was our Veronika Krumgold, the head and the trainer of Daugavpils skolēnu džudo klubs. Allowed to participation in junior man's group, Veronika deserved more than once an applause of men, having won a strong-willed victory and having become the silver prize-winner of man's tournament.
Also in junior group Normund Pavlyukevich and Ilya Kudryavtsev debuted. Normund, having won 4 victories, conceded only in the final to the Lithuanian athlete and became also the second, Ilya, having fulfilled the 5 fights, earned "bronze".
Two more debutants in wrestling discipline new to, Alexander Kharlamov and Yannis Landsmanis (the Riga area), have good experience of competitions in judo and sambo. Alexander in the most serious group won one victory painful on a foot, however it was insufficiently for fight for medals. Yannis in group "without experience" was limited to receiving experience new to and an honourable third place. Also, having won a victory, without medal in the overall ranking there was Anton Evdokimov (juniors).
Skilled Dmitry Anisko, despite the 96th year of birth, fought in serious "adult" category where won two accurate and sure victories and fight for getting into the final gave to the Lithuanian fighter who achieved a victory peculiar. The judge, however, didn't see violation of the rules and Dmitry also took the third place.
Special gratitude to Alexander Kharlamov for the help in trip realization.
